Appendix: A Summary of the Characteristics of Jesus’ Resurrected Body
By which we get a glimpse of our own resurrected bodies: 1John 3:2; “Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.”
What is Physical:
The old body was completely gone (Matthew 28:6; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:3, 12; John 20:5-8, 12)
It was not immediately recognizable but was it was visible (Luke 24:15-31; John 20:14, 20)
It could be seen visibly and touched and heard (Matthew 28:9; 17; Mark 16:9-14; John 20:12, 20, 27; Acts 1:3-4; 9:3-6; 1Corinthians 15:5-8)
It could be personally identified by voice (John 20:16)
It was comprised of real “flesh and bones”and not a ‘ghost’ (Luke 24:39)
The wounds from the crucifixion were still recognizable on His body (Luke 24:40; John 20:20, 27)
He could eat and digest food (Luke 24:42-43; John 21:9-14)
What is Newly Acquired Power:
It was not limited by other physical matter (the grave clothes, access to the upper room; Luke 24:12, 37; John 20:5-8, 19, 26)
It was not limited by disintegration or death anymore but was immortal (Acts 2:27, 31)
It was not limited by distance or the force of gravity (Matthew 28:7; Mark 16:7; John 21:4; Acts 1:10-11)
It could remain invisible and then appear suddenly (John 20:14, 19, 26; Luke 24:31, 37)
He was not limited by gravity (Mark 16:19; Luke 24:51; Acts 1:9-10)

As a heavenly Servant, He had a right to be served; But He became a man
As a Man of royalty, He had a right to be honored; But He humbled Himself
As a humble Man, He had a right to rule; But He became obedient

Cross Reference for "the gospel": 1 Corinthians 15:1–8 (NASB95, Emphasis mine)
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.
